Create nonpartisan posters and videos that inspire the American public

AIGA’s Get Out the Vote campaign invites designers to create nonpartisan posters and videos that inspire the American public to participate in the electoral process and vote in the 2012 general election.

Get Out the Vote, an AIGA Design for Democracy initiative, enables designers to engage in the public arena by contributing to a coordinated voter mobilization campaign. By motivating eligible citizens to register and turn out on election day, Get Out the Vote fulfills an ongoing AIGA objective of demonstrating the value of design to the public, public officials and business by providing a clear call to action for an activity that is important to everyone.

Join AIGA Charlotte on April 26, 2012, at Common Market in Southend for a Meet | Market style Get Out the Vote Kickoff Event! Enjoy some craft beer, wine, mingling with fellow designers and learn the rules for submitting your Get Out the Vote posters and videos by June 1 to AIGA.org. Any AIGA member will be entitled to post a design in the open gallery which will become the largest gallery of available designs in support of this critical civic function.

In June, Get Out the Vote Kickoff Event attendees return for a Pop-Up Poster and Video Show where AIGA Charlotte will hang participants’ posters and play the short videos around the patio. More details to come soon. We’re looking forward to seeing how you inspire others to Get Out and Vote!

• Go to aiga.org/get-out-the-vote and download the template
• Create your poster or video encouraging the American public to vote
• For AIGA Members: submit entries to aiga.org/get-out-the-vote AND to vfaircloth@aigacharlotte.org by June 1, 2012 to be included in the AIGA Charlotte Pop-Up Show
• For Non Members: submit your entries to vfaircloth@aigacharlotte.org by June 1, 2012 to be included in the AIGA Charlotte Pop-Up Show
• Join us for the Pop-Up Poster and Video Show on June 14, 2012 at the Common Market in Southend
