Tapped: The Movie
February 11, 2010 5:30 PM - 9:00 PM @ CPCC Central Campus, Tate Hall, Overcash Center
A Look at the Big Business of Bottled Water
Central Piedmont Community College’s (CPCC) Center for Sustainability, together with Green Drinks of Charlotte and the Habitat and Wildlife Keepers (HAWK), are pleased to present a special screening of the award-winning documentary “Tapped” on CPCC’s Central Campus.
From the producers of “Who Killed the Electric Car” and “I.O.U.S.A.”, this film examines the big business of bottled water and takes a behind-the-scenes look at this unregulated industry that aims to privatize and sell back the one resource that ought never to become a commodity – water. Directed by Stephanie Soechtig, this inspiring documentary trails the bottled water industry, painting a powerful portrait of the lives affected by this industry and the businesses and individuals caught at the intersection of big business and the public’s right to water.
Prior to the movie, Green Drinks Charlotte will be hosting happy hour in the bar area at Carpe Diem restaurant from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. Feel free to join for drinks and a movie, just drinks or just the movie! There will also be free prizes to give away after the show. Please feel free to invite others! See you there!
