Meet your Match at the AIGA Charlotte Mentor Program Kickoff on Thursday Feb 18th.

The learning curve is steep, the key commands are complex, the page count is long; that is why you are here.
The AIGA Charlotte Mentor Program is a three-month mentoring program designed to fertilize the career growth and professional success of emerging designers. Mentors and mentees will come together and work hand-in-hand to identify the mentee’s career goals and aspirations. Then, over the next three months, mentors will provide advice and guidance as they show their mentees the ropes.
Potential Mentees:
Do you wish you had some insight into what design professionals think of your work? Ever wonder what a "real" design firm looks like? Are you curious what you'll actually be doing when you graduate? How do projects come to life? Is it magic?
Potential Mentors:
Do you remember all the mistakes you made when you first graduated? Ever wish you were back in design school and you had a semester to complete your projects? Do you want to share with college students/recent graduates what the real world is like?
Now accepting applications for mentors(Professional Members) and mentees(Student Members and Associate Members) for spring 2010 Once mentors and mentees have applied, our board will match you based on your interests and desired career path. At this kickoff, you'll meet your mentor/mentee, hear great ideas for how to start your partnership and the specifics of the program itself.

Please note: application does not guarantee a spot into the program. Because of the need to match on an even basis, applications will be approved based on the number of mentors/mentees that apply and if any have to be put on a wait list for Fall 2010, money will be refunded accordingly. After you sign up, you'll get an email with an application to fill out by Tues Feb 09th. Applicants will be notified of acceptance into the program by Friday Feb 12th.
LOCATION DETAILS :: This meeting will be held in The Round room on the main level. We will have some signs/people to direct you when you arrive. Please arrive promptly by 6:30pm.
PARKING DETAILS :: ImaginOn has limited parking available in the parking deck below the building. The first 90 minutes are free then $2 for first 1/2 hour and $1 each additional hour. The deck can be accessed from Sixth Street, and there is direct elevator access from the parking deck to the ImaginOn lobby. Parking ticket must be validated at the Welcome Desk in the ImaginOn lobby.
Other Uptown Parking Options: Parking at Seventh Street Station
Located across the Lynx light rail line from ImaginOn, this deck has entrances on 6th and 7th Streets. For ImaginOn visitors, the deck offers 3 hours of free parking after 5:00 pm Monday - Friday, and free parking on Saturday and Sunday. Parking ticket must be validated at the Welcome Desk in the ImaginOn lobby. Additional rates may apply when there are Arena/Uptown events. Make sure you identify yourself as an ImaginOn guest when entering the parking deck if Arena/Uptown event rates are in effect.
