Pecha Kucha Night Volume 4

Pecha Kucha (usually pronounced in three syllables like "pe-chak-cha") is a presentation format in which content can be easily, efficiently and informally shown, usually at a public event designed for that purpose. Under the format, a presenter shows 20 images for 20 seconds apiece, for a total time of 6 minutes, 40 seconds.

What is Pecha Kucha Night?
Each presenter is allowed 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds each - giving 6 minutes 40 seconds of fame before the next presenter is up. This keeps presentations concise, the interest level up, and gives more people the chance to show.

Pecha Kucha Volume 4 is coming… and we want you to be a presenter!
This is your opportunity - to air your work/ideas, share your observations, express your opinions - to challenge yourself to be concise and creative in getting your message across - to present to a broad city-wide audience, in a casual supportive social environment - place yourself among the best creative talent in town.

Please note: this will be the last one in the current series. The good news is that point8 has renewed the agreement with the PK HQ in Tokyo to continue the series here in Charlotte. However, going forward, we intend to team up with different groups/organizations for each event. So from Vol. 5 onwards, instead of the current open format, each PK Night could have a certain theme/focus, depending on the objectives of the group that we are partnering with. So, if you are one of the people who have been enjoying the presentations, and have been wondering how it would be to do one of your own… well, this is your chance! So, come forward, and posture, promote or proselytize…!

Call for Presenters
Entry Deadline: August 31, 2009
By then you will need to submit:
1) 20 images in the sequence you want them in, as a zipped Powerpoint (.ppt) file.
2) The title and a 100 word (max) description of your presentation.
3) A short (3-4 sentence) bio/personal info/something about yourself (– this is only to help the Emcee introduce you at the event, and won’t be a consideration while selecting the presentations).
