Where are you from?
I was born in Fayetteville and raised in NY state. I also lived in a small town in Italy for a while. I've been in Charlotte more or less since 1990.

Where do you get your inspiration from?
Since I design for the screen, I like to look for ideas in the physical world: product design, vintage posters, nature, art history. I especially like food packaging from other countries.

What’s one goal (professional or personal) you have for the future?
I'd like to continue to find ways to bring my fine art and web design practices together. For example, I'm working on a project that takes imagery created as a woodcut print and brings it to life using Flash/Actionscript 3. I'm a big fan of mixing old and new technologies.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
"Find something you like and get really good at it" and "Reliability and professionalism are at least as important as talent."

What are you currently working on?
I'm currently working on several web sites for agencies and my own clients. I'm also getting ready to be an 11 Month Affiliate Artist at McColl Center for Visual Art this spring.

What is the best purchase you’ve ever made?
Blueberry iMac in 1999 - "I'm going to teach myself web design and make lots of money. You'll see!"
